New Roma coordinators will contribute to the project “Lithuanian Roma Platforms – Going Local”
To promote cooperation between the Roma communities and local authorities as well as mutual dialogue, dealing with the integration of the Roma national minority, social inclusion, education, health care and other issues, Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania continues the project “Lithuanian Roma Platforms – Going Local” funded by the European Commission. Four new Roma intermediaries will start their work in this project.
Trained coordinators – intermediaries will work in Vilnius, Panevėžys, Marijampolė, Kybartai and Eišiškės. They will help the Roma to communicate with representatives of state institutions, assist the Roma in dealing with issues in public and private institutions, solve other daily life issues, and implement education and prevention programs.
